IIT Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 application form as of August 28, 2024. Candidates can now register for the exam through the GATE GOAPS portal available on the official website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The GATE 2025 information brochure, which includes important dates and details, is also available. Before applying, candidates should review the eligibility criteria for the GATE exam thoroughly. Those currently in their third year or beyond of any undergraduate program, or who have completed any government-approved course in the relevant disciplines, are eligible to apply.
The deadline for submitting the GATE 2025 application form with a late fee is October 7, 2024. The GATE 2025 examination will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in two shifts for a total of 30 papers. GATE 2025 Notification: The GATE exam notification, available on the official website, includes details on eligibility criteria, registration, exam pattern, syllabus, exam cities, admit cards, results, and more. Candidates should review the notification thoroughly to understand the exam requirements.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Indian citizens and eligible NRIs.
- Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree holders or those in their third year or higher of any undergraduate program in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities.
- Age Limit: No age restrictions.
GATE 2025 Paper-wise Eligibility: Candidates must meet the specific educational qualifications for their chosen paper. For example, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology is required for papers like AE, CE, EE, etc. Please refer to the detailed eligibility criteria for each paper in the original announcement.
GATE GOAPS 2025: The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) is now live. Candidates must use this portal for all application-related tasks, including registration, form submission, admit card download, and result checking.
Application Process:
- Registration: Provide personal details to generate an enrollment ID and password.
- Form Filling: Enter details related to the exam, personal information, and educational qualifications.
- Document Upload: Upload a photograph and signature.
- Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online. For the regular period, the fee is Rs. 1800 for unreserved candidates and Rs. 900 for reserved category and female candidates.

Application Form Correction: Corrections can be made online until November 6, 2024. Candidates may edit certain details such as personal information, exam center, and qualifying degree details. A fee will be charged for this service.
Exam Centres: The GATE 2025 exam will be held at 176 centres across 8 IIT zones. Candidates should select three preferred exam centres when applying. The final allotment will be based on availability.
Exam Pattern: The GATE 2025 exam will be a computer-based test with a duration of 3 hours. It will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The exam will include questions from General Aptitude and the selected subject(s).
